a good local bank is no more

    The economy hits the local market tonight. Two other locals banks are on the list of the FDIC is having major trouble. Hope it stops eventually. The frustrating part is that if they are very large, they get bailed out. A good friendly small local bank who always cared for the community however, does not deserve that same help.


    All Home Valley Bank branches have been closed as of this evening by the Oregon Dept. of of Consumer and Business Services. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was then named Receiver. Subsequent to the closure, South Valley Bank & Trust, Klamath Falls, OR acquired all the deposits and es...sentially all of the assets of Home Valley Bank from the FDIC as Receiver. The bank's branches will reopen on Monday, July 26 as South Valley Bank. http://www.FDIC.gov/news/news/press/2010/pr10169.html
