As most are aware, Memo Gate by CBS is based on
their "experts" validating the authenticity of documents.
It is becoming clear that all the documents were
"made up" on a word processor and the signatures are
are forgeries or "cut & paste."

Howie Kurtz of the Washington Post decided to
investigate one of CBS's document experts and
it turns out he's not a forensic document expert,
but only does handwriting analysis ("your signature
shows you have lots of passion and a strong
    need to show your kindness").

But don't you know when Memo Gate crashes
down on CBS they'll be way too willing to dump
    on their expert.

So the next time you take on doing finals for
other appraisers, I think its a good idea to ask
"why?" And frankly I don't buy the idea that
its because he's on vacation or too far away,
its probably for some other smelly reason.

If the media truly needed skilled bloggers for scrutinizing the CBS skullduggery on Dubya, why didn’t they just bring in a few appraisers? Anyone who has done half a dozen reviews is an expert at deciphering 3rd and 4th generation copies.....I can look at a single page of the URAR and determine which wh*re did the report even when the name is whited out. Don’t even need no stinking signatures.

And what's really funny, when they take great pains to white out all of the names and signatures, but they forget about the software registration copy write at the very bottom in mice type.

How or why would you do another appraiser's Final Inspection

Can we really believe what any of the news media is puttin out these days  They've actually gone and set it up like a "soap"

They've decided to travel down the "Unethical" road to riches, the days of Walter Kronkite (1 of many) are sorely missed; so are the old time radio shows that would keep your attention for months.

Yeah....I didn't like that, so when I registered my copy I registered it with the name Appraisal Report...that's all that shows at the bottom now. Originally did it in order to be able to take sub work without advertising my own company...not to avoid review identification, but I guess it works for that too.

I would do a final for another appraiser....IF.....I knew them and was able to talk to them about the job before going out. Then if the reasons smelled...I would cancel the job.

LittleGreenFootballs.com is a good blog source for
the story. I like the comment,

"Number of Days CBS Won't Admit They Blew the Story"

Bill, I think CBS will behave like a lender will behave
when they have a bad loan/appraisal, they will come
back on the final appraiser as a scapegoat. I know its
    a stretch.

I guess I'm cloudy but I don't understand what you mean by; "Doing a final for another appraiser". Educate me here. I understand the scapegoat part of it.
