    Good Afternoon,

I would like to attend one of these events this year. Which one is preferred by most of you? I believe the Valuation Expo is in Las Vegas each year. I'm not sure about the AI Annual Meeting but I know it is in Las Vegas this year. I am planning on going to one of these events and would just like some input from some of you with more experience than me so I can decide on which one to attend. Thanks!

I think the Valuation Expo would be more fun. AI functions are pretty dry.

If you are looking to gain appraisal knowledge and take CE courses, go with the Institute.

    It's Vegas! Who cares!

jk I agree with James that if you're looking to learn while in vegas (if that's even possible), go with AI

I would rather attend the World Series of Poker, currently at the Rio. Anyone willing to front me $10,000 for the buy-in.

They are like rodeos. If you've seen one, you've seen them all.

Thanks for the information guys, it is much appreciated! Does the AI one move around too or is it in Vegas every year like the Valuation Expo? If that is the case I may go with the Valuation Expo this year and then AI next year at a different city.

For a guy who loves online education, and once bragged on the education forum that you completed the 15 hour USPAP course in 5 hours, I am surprised that you would actually travel anywhere to sit through seminars that require actual attendance. Go figure:shrug:

The AI moves around each year. Unless they have changed, they typically don't (or at least did not in the old days) have a lot of CE. THey have some seminars, tours, etc.
