Has anyone ever been to the Appraisal Today Conference? It's being held in August in South San Francisco. It's sponsored by ACI and offers 28 units of CE including the 7 hr. USPAP. Just wondering is it worth the cost and time? Thanks! :D

    Mellissa:

I have attended for the last 3 years. I have family in the area, but I have gotten a significant amount of 'take home' useful information from every conference I have attended. I go even if I have more than met my CE hour requirements and don't want to see my family anymore :p ....

Ann uses the panel or team teaching concept and two rounds of classes a day.

The tech classes are useful, Wayne Pugh is an industry icon in terms of confuser knowledge, but can put it at a level that even _I_ can comprehend! The takehome goodies from the tech classes are excellent.
Matt Johnson and others will be demonstrating the techie toys which make some urban appraisers lives highly efficient.

Ann O'Rourke gives the conference, but has a variety of corporate sponsors there (including ACI) at a trade show in the central meeting room. The food is always good (and sometimes truely EXCElLENT) the company of appraisers who choose to attend is generally highly congenial... And for the last few years several appraisersforum member's have made sure to meet in one corner for lunch!

I think I'd like to attend but I can't find anything listed at TicketTron or TicketMaster. Is there a secret invite system?

The opportunity to take-in SF for a couple days is a winner by itself.

I think I am going to attend to visit old appraisal buddys and take in the city. I was in SF over spring break and found Jazz Alley by Ghiradelli square; in this block area there a number of Blues clubs; not to mention great food everywhere.

Thanks Verne! Jazz Alley sounds great! Hey, what kind of degree is a MFLA? Sounds impressive whatever it is!

    Melissa,

The Ann O'Rourke's Appraisal Today Conference in San Francisco is one of the best education and social gatherings of professional appraisers each year. Not only are the panel discussions informative and educational but generally the most up to date available.

The opportunity to meet forum members at the reserved "Appraisers Forum" table is a great experience in its self

The conference vendors bring all their latest toys and the free give-a-ways are always interesting.

If your thinking about attending, there is an early registration discount until June 30. Just go to the Appraisal Today web page posted by Lee Ann.

By the way Phil our Aussie forumite will be attending as the guest of Ann.
