How is your energy level at the end of the day compared to sitting?

Exactly. It looks great, but is there a cheaper version anywhere?

My days are so non-standard its tough to get a good baseline reading; between inspections where I'm gone 1/2 the day and light days where I run errands 1/2 and busy report writing days where I'm working form 7am till 9pm at the desk, its pretty much different every day. But what I find is that when you start dragging, whether tired from standing, or falling asleep in your chair, if you switch positions, it turns into a nice "re-boot" to your mental status. There's definitely a training aspect to the standing. The more standing you've been doing recently, the easier it gets to stand more of the day. I just had knee surgery so I've been exclusively sitting for the last few weeks, so I'll be starting from scratch as soon as I get back to standing.

    This is the cheep version.

The office furniture retailers and places like the "Relax the Back" stores have versions that are much more expensive.

If you want to save a couple hundred off the price of a geek desk, you can provide your own top. That's what I did. Seems like you save a couple hundred and I just got a piece of AB plywood, rounded the corners, created a little concave place in the front and rounded the edges with a router. I didnt finish the wood at all. About 45 minutes work; most of that was just laying out the concave section. Total cost was about $25.
