I am asking all appraisers who participate in this forum and outside of this forum to take under advisement the possibility of wanting to be part of something bigger. Coming together as one voice and collectively being able to control our future, our data and our fees in this industry.

Look at the NAR. I shouldn't have to say another word. Membership is through the roof. They have lobbyists. They have a voice. They have pull. Lets prove to this industry that we are more than what we appear to be.

Right now as we speak something is being stirred in a huge pot that will be beneficial for all appraisers. I'm not at liberty to discuss all the details at this time but what we do need is participation. Real participation. Real support from real appraisers.

If you want to be a part of something bigger than just your office than please contact me via email, private message or call me. It's our time to rise. We have to be better. We can be great.

Who will rise to the challenge of wanting to better our industry? I am pointing my fingers at everyone of you. It's we the people not I the appraiser. We truly have the ability to be so much more than we are. I see greatness in each and every appraiser I have spoken to and the more people that I hear from daily makes me believe that I'm not alone.

If someone asks me what time it is, I'm going to let them know it's OUR time.

It's OUR time to make our voices heard loud and clear. It's OUR time to protect OUR data. It's OUR time to protect OUR fees. It's OUR time to protect one another.

Spread the word. Big things are happening and I want each and everyone of you on this forum to be part of it. I want every appraiser in this state on board this locomotive and no matter where this ride takes us we are all going to be part of it.

There is room for everyone who truly wants to make a difference and have a voice.

I encourage all other states, coalitions, schools and groups to take notice that appraisers can come together and make a difference!

The ultimate measure of a person is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand in times of challenge and controversy. -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Maybe some background, like your full name, may get some people excited.

Are they gonna let us sell houses :clapping::clapping:

Very funny.

Are they gonna let us sell houses :clapping::clapping:

I don't see that happening any time soon. However it won't be long before we really show what appraisers independence is all about.

I really want other coalitions to take a hard look at what Georgia is about to do.

I am amazed by the outpouring of support we have received so far. It's quite astonishing.

Congrats David,

Herding cats is hard work.

Good luck

NAR membership....................................reported as being... 1,200,000+

Total of all real estate appraisers in US......about less than..........100,000

Put those math skills to work.

Herding cats and them some.

Put those math skills to work.

My math skills are working overtime. 1.2mil + for the NAR
100,000+ for appraisers.

Can you imagine 100,000 independent appraisers all on the same sheet of music? I can. However everyone must be willing to participate. Everyone has a role to play. Can you imagine all 100,000+ playing a game of golf for a few days? Our voice will not be stifled any longer. I urge all appraisers in all states to follow our lead! Get in contact with us. Now is the time.

Spread the word... It's OUR time. We are so vital to the industry and we are we are treated like second rate citizens.

I say no more. There are many others within the collective who share that thought.

I wish you luck but the 2 groups (agents/appraisers) are very different in nature. Agents discovered a long time ago that theirs is a networking and collaborative type business. Appraisers are more lone wolf types interested in data (as a general rule).

So one group, made of social minglers and climbers have banded together to form a powerful coalition (NAR). The other group of green eyeshade types have stayed fractured and splintered. What a surprise.

Good luck to all. :peace:

What is your goal, specifically? I am not at a point in my life where someone can get me riled up or want to spend an ounce of energy to do or support something I have no clue or details about just with some ra-ra post. Luckily it cost just under an ounce of energy to write this post.

What we are trying to do is empower all appraisers everywhere. We are in the process of developing two things. One that could possibly be good for all appraisers in all states and secondly a data sharing platform that is a co-op data share with each appraiser as a shareholder. Each state would have it's own co-op.

The goal as we envision it is to unite all appraisers towards a common goal and second to ensure the security of our data so it can't be sold our from under our feet. Data is quite possibly one of the most valuable commoditys we have in our industry today. He who controls that data can profit from it.

I don't know if this fires you up but you sound like you are extremely educated and we could really use that kind of wisdom as a foundation block to empower others.
