Is there anything unique to consider when figuring demolition costs on an old chicken coop? The thing (2 storeys, 220'x36') is set on sfr's lot and is out of use and long past its prime. Treat it like any other old structure demo? Or are there other concerns? I know there are chicken condo specialists out there. Thanks for your help.

I was going to reply the same as Michael and I am north of the Mason Dixon line, just not north enough to have city-fied ways. If you have zoning, building permits, and such restrictions in your area, I can't help you.

Okay maybe I had a traumatic experience outside a poultry facility...Parked between residential appts and doing some paperwork in my car, I looked up and saw the guys in tyvek suits hosing down incoming trucks' wheels, dire but non-specific warning signs posts on the gates. I thought it was Area 151(northeast).

I later learned that all this was for the chickens' protection.

And the subject coop is just old and beat and a home coop not industrialchickenfacility. But I wondered if there was anything about the chicken housing posing a threat that needed to be handled differently.

I love the truck boys, but I hadda known it be like this.
