More than 60 prominent German scientists have publicly declared their dissent from man-made global warming fears in an Open Letter to German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The more than 60 signers of the letter include several United Nations IPCC scientists.

The scientists declared that global warming has become a “pseudo religion” and they noted that rising CO2 has “had no measurable effect” on temperatures. The German scientists, also wrote that the “UN IPCC has lost its scientific credibility.”

This latest development comes on the heels of a series of inconvenient developments for the promoters of man-made global warming fears, including new peer-reviewed studies, real world data, a growing chorus of scientists dissenting (including more UN IPCC scientists), open revolts in scientific societies and the Earth's failure to warm. In addition, public opinion continues to turn against climate fear promotion.

In the paper the other day was a story about the government plan to plant 13 MILLION acres of trees. Mostly in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

13 Million acres is the size of West Virginia. Most of this planting will eliminate tillable ground to prevent global warming. 13 million acres of less tillable ground is the equivalent of stopping all corn production in Iowa.

I think even the die hards admit the jig is up by changing the title of their religion from "Global Warming" to "Climate Change". With the new title they have all the bases covered.

Did I hear correctly on the radio today, that this $4500 freebie under the cash for clunkers program is taxable income? If this is correct, the person stating this said many who took advantage of the program are just now finding this out. They also stated many car dealers are ready to panic awaiting the reimbursement funds from the government.

I heard a new word the other day

    Ecocon

Apparently it's a variation on our favorite political pejorative - "neocon".

I'll let you guys figure out the definition for yourselves.

Predicting solar cycles isn't too advanced a science.

"The sun has been very, very quiet lately. This unusually long, deep lull in sunspots forced the revision, the panel stated. Some have even raised the possibility that the quiescence could lead to a Little Ice Age, as the sun pumps less energy our way. Scientists say that's very unlikely.

But the forecasters note that big individual storms can strike before, during or after any cycle's peak, even if it is weak.

A recent report by the National Academy of Sciences found that if a storm that severe occurred nowadays, it could cause up to $2 trillion in initial damages by crippling communications on Earth and fueling chaos among residents and even governments in a scenario that would require four to 10 years for recovery".

CFACT runs the Climate Depot website.

    This is from wikipedia.

"A large proportion of CFACT’s funding comes from corporations in the energy and automobile industries, as well as conservative foundations. Its financial backers include The Exxon Mobil Corporation,[5] The Chevron Corporation,[6] The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Fund,[6] The U.S. Council on Energy Awareness,[7] The Carthage Foundation, and The Sarah Scaife Foundation.[8]"

Although a few of the 60 signers of this open letter are listed as having some connection to the climate science field, many certainly do not.
