I have been desperately trying to contact any and everyone over the past week that can provide me with some kind of explanation as to why I was denied the right to test. The following correspondence was my most recent letter, to Governor Nathan Deal of Georgia;

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
Hello. I am a Real Estate appraiser, Registered in the State of Georgia since 2008. As you are probably aware, there have been changes to qualifications in my career field repeatedly since 2008. I have attempted to meet all qualifications, but have repeatedly fallen short of deadlines due to workload, or various other unrelated reasons along the way. In September of 2013, I made up my mind that I would do everything possible to achieve all qualifications prior to the January 1, 2015 deadline, as a last ditch effort. I enrolled at Athens Technical College, and completed all educational requirements as well as all continuing education requirements specific to the appraisal field, with a 3.14 GPA . However, as I was finally granted permission to proceed with testing for advancement to the Certified Residential Level by Applied Measurement Professionals, INC. , I was informed that there are no more available testing slots available at the 4 testing facilities in the State of Georgia, which are also governed by Applied Measurement Professionals, INC. Immediately, I set forth the following correspondence to the Georgia Real Estate Appraisal Board:
Please help me! I have worked very hard to meet all the requirements to advance to the Certified Residential Appraisal classification. I have completed every course and received approval (as of December 23rd) from AMP to test for Certified Residential status. However, there are no examination slots available before the beginning of the year. I have worked hard for this, and I deserve the opportunity to try. I am 54 years old, and a bachelor’s degree is out of reach for me. It is not fair that I should be denied the test when I have diligently achieved all requirements in the required time. It is not fair that I should have to start over in a new career field at my age simply because I am not allowed to test before the deadline due to a lack of testing slot. PLEASE HELP ME!
After a copy of this letter was sent to the Georgia Real Estate Commission, and I received this reply:
Mr. Jones,
We will contact AMP on your behalf to see if there are any other options. As you know, this is a hard deadline and there are no exceptions for candidates that do not meet all of the requirements, including passing the exam, prior to 1/01/2014. As it is Christmas Eve, many offices have limited staffing. Also, there are only 3 work days left in the calendar year, so unfortunately, your options may be limited at this time.

Upon receipt of this correspondence I responded immediately:
Thank you for your response, Mr. Ambio. I have been in touch with Gini Mack
at AMP for months, trying to insure that I would be able to test in time.
Unfortunately, I have already attempted to schedule at all 4 testing
facilities, to no avail. I even offered to Ms. Mack that I would drive out
of state to another testing facility, But she said it would have to take
place in one of the 4 facilities within the state. I have been trying to
register for the test since the middle of November, when it became clear
that I would pass the final college level Statistics class so as not to
wait until the last minute. Ms. Mack informed me that I would have to wait
until the final official transcript was completed. Although finals were
December the 11th, my school did not get a transcript to me before December
23rd. The delay was NOT on my end. I have diligently completed all
requirements, with every waking moment of this entire year focused on that
particular goal. I do not want any special treatment, I want to do that
which I have worked hard and earned the right to do. I want to test. I am
ready to test before the deadline. It is extremely unfair to deny me the
right to test, due to AMP's inadequate facilities. It is their shortcoming,
not mine. Especially when I have been in constant contact with them. I
assure you that Ms. Mack knows my name, if you were to ask. Therefore I
implore you yet again; PLEASE HELP ME!!!
My time is running short. In addition to sending a letter to the Appraiser Qualifications Board and the National Appraisal Foundation, I have also sent letters to U. S. Senator Johnny Isakson, U.S. Senator Elect David Perdue, U. S. Representative Elect Jody Hice, and Georgia State Senator Bill Cowsert. As of yet I have received no reply, and am highly concerned that the holiday season may impede any opportunity to reach these Congressmen or governing board for help before my deadline arrives. I have also contacted AARP, which has responded with various contacts for which to pursue possible age discrimination litigation.
So now I appeal to you, Governor Deal, please help me to participate in this testing, as I have diligently earned the right to pass or fail on my own accord. I have done everything possible to maintain my privilege to earn in my chosen career field, and I just cannot believe that I will be denied a future in my chosen field because it is an inconvenience for someone to hand me a piece of paper to fill out, and a corner to sit and test under supervision. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Today, I have faced the realization that this deadline has now passed, with no resolution whatsoever. I am numb with devastation. This is not self-indulgence as result of navel contemplation, this is a bitterness and despair I have not experienced in quite some time. Can anyone tell me how I can rationalize this to myself, shake it off, and move forward? Or more to the point, just what am I supposed to do now???
