"The charge against Makwana carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison."

    a. .......where he will have plenty of time re-creating the virus, tripling its' strength and cloaking it......so after serving 3 years with early release for "good behavior"....and

b..........they deport him back to India and he's hired to run an appraisal "review" & processing center for a major U.S. bank or top tier AMC, ......

c..........he can get it right next time.

"Had the virus been released, "it would have caused millions of dollars of damage and reduced if not shut down operations" for at least a week, Nye wrote."

Fannie needs a new IT guy, one that knows how to back up systems so it can be
easily recovered. Buts its almost like government work so of course they
would claim millions of dollars of damage and workers would go home for weeks
    with pay.
