I have recently separated from my employer of close to 10 years. He has filed a complaint with the licensing board against me. I recently emailed him asking him to give me access, to allow me to have/use the original workfile in order to respond to the complaint. His response was as follows: "There is no way I will give you the original physical work file. but a scammed copy of the file will be what I can furnish."
It is my understanding that, as per USPAP, he is to give me access to the original workfile, not just a mere copy. I am worried that notes and other supporting documents will be left out to his convenience.
Anyone know if he can keep the original file from me?
Thank you in advance for your response.
