I've just lost two sketches . . . or I can't find them. I have been saving as I go along. I spent a considerable amount of time and it's frustrating to say the least. Any help would be appreciated. I have Apex 3 integrated with ACI.

    MV,

Help me understand what you mean. Are you drawing sketches, saving and exiting and they are not showing up in your report, or do you mean you can't load up a sketch from an existing report? If you can give me some work-flow type details, maybe I can help (?) Willing to try, anyway...

Yes, I am drawing sketches, saving and then exiting. When I go back to "open" , the sketches are not there.

btw, I've got two boxers. They're great dogs.

    MV,

Since you say you are using "open", you are likely running the program in "stand-alone" mode vs. integrated through ACI. If you are using Apex through integration with ACI, your File|Open function is probably not visible anyway. If you created the file(s) while integrated through ACI, their integration call may be programmatically saving the file to a different location than is being used while in a "stand alone" session. You might also check with ACI to see if they know where files are saved while integrated - some integrators save them within their own database, some save them to a folder they set up while others just read your Apex user configuration and use that.

When you open the File Open Dialog, look in the upper list box (drop down) to see where the program is looking for data. If it is in a weird place, the defaults may have gotten messed up or changed, so browse to a more appropriate place. Also, check your defaults for your "save" and "open" directories (folders) - most versions let you set up a favorite for each and they aren't always the same. That setting is in the Options/Default Directory fly-out menu(s) in version 3.

Also, check the file extension setting in the File Open dialog ("Files of type") - it should be on "All supported files" - your v3 program is looking for files with the extension of "AX3." If you used a different file extension, you may need to select "(*.*) All files"

You might even need to do a Windows Search to find the files you know you saved earlier. That might reveal where the files are if the file/save path is sending them to someplace other than where the file/open path is looking.

Finally, if you get this before we close for the holiday weekend, you can call tech support and ask for Steven or Jonathan. Tell them I said to call.

    Hope this helps!

We've got two litter mates - two brothers. We've had boxers for a while but having two new ones at the same time is a first for us. Quite a handful, but we love them... :)
