    Hello,
I am new to this field and am interested in purchasing a measuring device (preferrably electronic) for measuring the interior and exterior of any improvements. I would appreciate any advice on what type/brand of devices that others are using or reccommend. Thanks for your help and enjoy your day!!

My first measurement tooling was a 100ft Tape Measurement.

I used it for the first day of trainee training.
The next day, I ordered a Disto by overnight shipping.

I put that tape measurement into the trunk for emergency and never touched again.

    Mike,

Didn't you take a Market course? When the supply exceeds the demand! Who else makes these things? :yellowblack:

    Mike,

Since the Plus was just released, I doubt if the price will be coming down anytime soon.

Remember.... we aren't the manufacturer of the DISTO products. If I knew of a better laser measuring device on the market, we'd be selling it. Bosch will be releasing a Bluetooth unit soon. The problem with it is that it won't transmit the direction of what you are measuring. If you want it to sketch like the DISTO Plus, you're out of luck.

My dad resisted digital cameras long after they came out. He was still using 35mm and an open account at the local 1 hour photo place when I joined him in '99.

I guess like father, like son - I'm still resisting the Disto gadget and rely on my 100' cloth/nylon contractors tape. I'm pretty sure I can tape a house as fast as someone can disto the same house. I think it provides a better opportunity to make observations about the property and I also think Trainees should at least start out with a real tape measure.

More than likely, I'll eventually give up the tape. ;)
