    Hello All!

    WELCOME TO THE

    Oregon Appraisers Coalition

It has been pretty quiet on this end, however, we have continued to work toward a common goal to improve the appraisal profession. As a matter of fact, we are here to invite all appraisers in the state of Oregon who have a desire to make our profession better, and keep our recent legislative victory moving, to join us.

We are compiling a list of willing volunteers who to help organize, facilitate and motivate. As we gear up for the next legislative session, it is also our intent to establish ourselves as a unified appraiser voice in Oregon and across the country through communication and focused intent.

We will be contacting everyone in the near future to outline what is needed and the deadlines that are necessary.

    DCBS Round table discussion
The ACLB and DCBS both put out public invitations on their websites for the last round table discussion on April 26th. This concerns rule making suggestions for HB 3624-B regulation by the DCBS. The 'round table' is by invitation only and was a very broad representation from the appraisal profession, bankers, AMC's, Credit Union, Realtors, Mortgage Brokers, a Senate Representative and a House Representative. It is open to the 'public' and a few appraiser's (along with our Lobbyist) were there along with bankers, Realtors, banking Lobbyist, and others I did not meet. There was some good discussion and suggestions.

The next round table discussion is (as of this writing) May 17th at 2pm in the Labor & Industries Building, Conference Room 260, 350 Winter Street NE, Salem. This is subject to change but we will keep you informed. We would like to pack the room and continue to show our unified support for change.!! This is a very important meeting. It will probably be the last public meeting of this kind from the DCBS. Then they move on to the very interesting task of regulating the AMCs. We urge you to make time to attend.

As we move closer to the next legislative session, the Appraisers' Coalition is setting up its leadership, goals and a united voice for the Appraisers in Oregon.

We are seeking individuals that will step up to the plate and donate their time in the following areas and on a 'ground floor' level.
    Finance Committee
    Membership Committee
    Bylaws Committee

    Web Site Committee
    General Volunteers

A few of the grass roots members have continued to work on the coalition, however, we need more volunteers. As a coalitionist, you will embark upon an education process, that money cannot buy! It truly is an opportunity for growth and to meet some of your colleagues. Who do you know, that would join our team and improve our profession?

Remember, this coalition is about having one voice that can stand up and fight back for our profession!!!

Lastly, please forward this email to all of the appraisers you know. Thanks!
