Original Comp Pics- Usda Rural Dev

    I've been googling this and looked on here. On a USDA rural dev do you have to take original comp pics. I understand it can be a lender requirement but does USDA/HUD require it... I always thought they did but had a discussion with another appraiser today and he says it's just a lender requirement... All help is greatly appreciated... Thx

    Why would you not take a comp photo?

    FHA requires your photo. If the property can't be seen from the street, you still take a photo and supplement with the MLS pic. USDA follows FHA protocol for all intents and purposes (almost).

    USDA says to follow FHA appraisal protocol and FHA appraisal protocol says to take original photos.

    They follow FHA protocol. I believe FHA requires original photos
