Default Has anyone worked on their HOA board?

With the market slow down, I've done something incredibly stupid and taken on the position of HOA President. I came into the position with a near bankrupt HOA, with many issues to be resolved. Has anyone else had the displeasure of being part of their HOA Board?

Served for 7 years, 4 as VP. So how does it feel to be appreciated?

I almost went to blows with one jerk after he insulted a female member of the board. For 2 years we had to have a policeman at the monthly meeting. The next condo development I live in will have very, very, very concrete rules and regs. I hate it when aholes join and try to change things.

I’ve always been astute enough to avoid serving on both HOA boards and juries and I don’t even hold a designation.

I attended ONE meeting at a time they were looking for directors. That was enough for me! It was nothing but inane haggling by morons and one trying to develope a position of power.....and my quick assessment was, he was the dumbest.

The Power T is the most glorious thing I have ever had the pleasure of watching the Volunteers run through before every home game. I graduated from the University of Tennessee in May 2001. College was the best decade of my life, unfortunately they don't call me Dr. Yeager (actually, 3 years in attendance, 4 year break, 3 years back, but all spent in Knox-vegas).

I think I'm vice president or something on my HOA board. It was supposed to be my wife's position, but somehow responsibilities fell on me. It doesn't matter though: 12 homeowner's who don't care; so it's easy.

I'm presently on my HOA's board. In a word, horrid. We're in the process of getting started after the developer left without transfering the common grounds or improving them as promised. I think TC sent his trouble down my way. Thanks alot.

I was asked and not only did I say no . . . but heck no! It's hard to soar like an eagle when you are surrounding by a bunch of turkeys. I have only made a handful of meetings over the past seven years in my PUD. It's like a 3-ring circus with a couple of power-mongers thrown in to stir the pot. Bless you, Steve, for taking the time to serve your HOA.
