Default Who's Looking Out for These People?

I just do not understand how here in America we have this situation where people who have been defrauded do not receive immediate help. We have money to go to the moon but not enough to help these poor people. We need to call a "time out" on all foreclosures and have them reviewed by Real Estate experts hired and paid by the government.

Default Who's looking out for these people?

God helps those who help themselves.
Government and the devil always stand by to help the rest.
-
Are you suggesting that the government that caused this mess is even close to being a soulution?
Most of this mess is due to making homes too easy to buy for people who could never qualify to buy a home in a realistic world.
Most people who can't save enough to place a decent down payment on a home will not have the resources to maintain it when the roof leaks and the termites move in.
-
Haven't the tax payers been hit enough with bailouts ?
If current trends continue, the home mortgage deduction is going to be eliminated out of necessity due to collapsing federal revenue while federal expenses are climbing.
How long will government subsidize houses when the unemployed and hungry threaten revolution ?
Let's me suggest an answer to the "Who's looking out for these people" question.
If you think something needs to be done YOU SHOULD GO HELP THEM ! HOW CAN YOU TURN YOUR BACK ON THEM IF YOU TRULY CARE ! GO AND HELP THEM ANY WAY YOU CAN !
I suspect you don't really care enough to help them. You care enough to post so someone else can take care of them for you.
The middle class tax base is being taxed too much. Retirement for most will never happen.
And you think we should spend more helping the unqalified/incompetent ? sure why not maybe I can sell one of my kidneys. After taxes I've nothing to spare as it is.
When the tax payer is broke so it the government !
excuse me my tea is ready.

I believe if they suffered a financial loss do to proven fraud or theft, they can receive a tax deduction for their losses.

If they just made a stupid decision, then I don't think they deserve the tax payer's (aka government's) help.

If they were ripped off by the fraudulent actions of others, then they should proceed immediately to the local prosecutors office and file charges against the theives. Doing nothing just gives the theives incentive to do it again.....sorta like the pirates from Somolia.

When you have someone making $30K a year, getting approved for a $400K loan, and admitting that they knew they couldn't make the payments, I have NO sympathy.

You want to help someone, help those who have a higher rate, but bought what they could afford, and are making the payments, not someone trying to flip a home or working a scam.

Default Victumology .

Stupid is .... is stupid does .....

America was built on another kind of core ....

.... even Christ said, " the poor will always be with you" ......

..... being born on this earth never gave a person the birthright to a home .....

... birthrights have always been determined by the histories of peoples and family warring for space ....

.... government has and never will be a benefactor .....

Screw 'em..... they signed the loan papers, if they cannot afford the payments then they should not have borrowed the money.....I say they deserve to get foreclosed on.....people need to take responsibility for their actions......its really simple....if you can't afford the payment, don't take out the loan.

For my part, I don't want to see any of these people screwed. Tim, you're an attorney, how daunting is the challenge of reading and understanding all the paperwork at closing for even the well trained and savy buyer, let alone the typical home buyer.

And when the market was going up, no matter your economic status, to see that real estate train leaving the station with the hope that you can fulfill the dream of home ownership, obtain an asset that will appreciate, and secure your family's future, well that's a powerful temptation even for the most sober and prudent.

I wouldn't, however, expect much relief from government. There are some things government does well and has down pat. This isn't one of them.

Didn't' the Guberment, NAR, Lenders, mass media pump the system that everyone deserves a house and use credit to create wealth? How many investment clubs were created by Realtors, MB/LO's?

Some will take responsibility and will only blame themselves and be accountable. Others, where complete hucksters, while others never saw it coming from the charming man at church.

An old flim-flam man said once that it is hard to cheat an honest man. The good flim-flammer preys upon your own greed.
