Default Your attitude towards government owned private businesses?

I was just thinking, with government taking big ownership interests in banks, car companies, and who knows what other kinds of businesses, to the extent you have a choice, will you take your business away from these government companies or towards them?

Me? I'll go away every time. I don't think its an appropriate role for government so I'll do what little I can to get them out the businesses they shouldn't be in.

I'm just wondering if there's more people out there like me. If there are it would make being "saved" by the government the ultimate kiss of death, or alternately a never ending hole into which tax dollars will be spend.

The government has never ran anything successfully because the vast majority in government have never run a business.
My question would simply be, what qualifies anyone in the House, Senate or the Executive Branches of government to run a business?

The answer is apparently NOTHING.

I run away as fast as I can, and take my business elsewhere

These are the same people that brought you FEMA, Walter Reed, and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Of course they should be running GM and B of A and Citi. Let's turn them into utopian socialist outreaches. All cars have a 100 mile range and a top speed of 40 MPH. All credit cards have 2% interest and don't really have to be repaid. Everybody gets a free house along with free healthcare. After all, only the top 1% will get taxed to pay for it all.

If a government controlled company was capable of building a product that featured quality as high a product made by a private outfit at a price that was competitive, I would consider purchasing that product. However, doing that is simply beyond the ability government, so I doubt that I will be purchasing any products produced by government run entities anytime soon.
