Default Happy Appraiser

There Is One Happy Appraiser In Nw Ark.

The Board Had Revoked His Lic On A First Time Violation-(no Fraud Or Intentional Fraud.)

He Did Not Adequately Supervise A Nut Cake Appraiser--a Clear Violation-

But It Did Not Rise To The Level Of Putting Him Out Of Business.

At Least Thats What The Local Appeal Judge Ruled.

Another Appraiser Was Fined $15,000. His Violations Were Severe-(again, Not Supervising Goof Ball Help)so He Elected To Quit. But He Had Done Some Very Good Work In Past.

One Of The Counts Was That There Were Junk Cars On A Rural, Wooded, Isolated Property Near Winslow. He Stated The Landscaping Was Good.

The New Investigator Has Had Recent Appraisal Experience And Many Of Us Welcome The Change.

Summer Is Officially Here.

Are we supposed to mention junk cars? I mean every other Indian in Oklahoma and every other Hillbilly in the Ozarks has at least one car on blocks or sitting in the weeds. Personal property...could be removed in a few moments.

I hope the Stonewall Jackson era is over (Kill 'em, kill 'em all). After all, some of us has seen the work of folks who have sit or currently sit on the state board....is it better than what most of the rest of us are doing? I don't think so.

Seems bizarre that over the years the most flagrant violators I know dodged bullet after bullet and people whom I respect seem to throw in the towel or are hammered like a horseshoe.

It is clear that the appraisers with the lowest numbers are the ones who are fined the highest and sanctioned the hardest.... nevermind that USPAP changes. Fannie and Freddy change. FHA changes.... and everyone gets put under pressure by lenders who have no idea what we are supposed to do in the legal sense.

So the person who had his license revoked won on appeal?

Who got fined $15K and threw in the towel?

Yes, The Judge Reversed The Board's Decision.

(i Understand The Board Can Appeal ).

According To Docs From A Board Meeting, Davis Irwin Of Fayetteville Gave Up His Lic.

I Have Reviewed Three Of His Reports, In Rural Sw Washington County And They Were Excellent.

Just A Real Nice Guy, That Made A Bad Mistake. But $15,000--
Someone Said The Fines Were The Only Extra Revenue The Board Gets.

Conflict Of Interest?

You mean David Irwin (Irvin(?))? He didn't renew in 2008.

...and yes, he was good. I, too, reviewed a few of his reports. No problems.

People who are both Realtors and Appraisers are in a pickle under threat of sanction. If they don't drop their license and lose, then they can lose their RE license too... David is selling RE today.

I agree. His work was well respected...not to mention he isn't a shabby piano player either...

I hope the board does not appeal the other case. Again, I wonder about the issue of being harsher on low number'd appraisers v. high numbers. I also wonder who had an axe to grind....i just don't see this as a typical punishment for a first time on the radar issue.

The Court Case Did Not Last Long-say One Hour, So I Am Told-then 30 Days Under Consideration.

One Unanswered Question--since The Board Revoked T. Y's Lic, They Did Not Require The Typical Classes Or 6 Months Appraisal Report Review.

Jerry D. Is Scheduled For Another Board Hearing And Report Review. Very Costly And Stressful. Plus Additional Classes. Did Someone Say A Recent Former Board
Member That Recommended J D's Extra Education Teaches Ai Courses? (not D.r)

So, One Of The Defenses Was To Be That Nw Ark Appraisers Had Been More Harsh Ally Sanctioned Than "rome". Apparently Was Not Even Needed In T Y Case.

So, Now What.

They Did Accept His Lic Renewal Fee And Sent Lic Because Court Had Not Decided At Lic Date.

J Asked If He Had To Go To An Ai Course, And Of Course The Answer, When Confronted Was "no".
