Default UW Condition for security door locks

I got a condition today for a house that has security bars on the windows for the following: "DO ANY SECURITY DOORS HAVE DUAL-ACTION DEADBOLT LOCKS?" There are two security screen doors.

I haven't seen this request before and I don't check the lock type on security screen doors. Has anyone seen this condition/stip before?

Next underwriter question - what's the fiber count in the carpet????

Nope. The only condition I have ever heard about is whether the bars have the quick release latch/handle on the inside.

Tell them to call the homeowner and ask since you are not an expert in deadbolt security.

The home was vacant, this is an REO.

Suggest they hire a locksmith to make that determination.

My guess it what they are asking is similar to the security bar issue. My mom has a security door that requires a key on the inside and outside. I could see how this might be a safety issue if she could not get out the front door without a key.

I just heard back from the appraisal dept and this is what they are referring to. When there are security bars on windows egress is limited in case of a fire so they want to confirm the security screen doors don't have dual action deadbolts, separate key deadbolts inside and out, to further inhibit egress. To my knowledge, the deadbolts are not an issue when there are no security bars on the windows.
