Default Curved Staircase Symbols

My apologies in advance to one of the members here for being forgetful. In a different forum/thread, a user wrote me a while back, jokingly asking if he was going to have to wait for an "Apex v5" to get what is probably the single most requested symbol - Curved Staircase. I replied that I had already drawn several, from cheesy to ornate, but just never got around to including it in a point release and then promised I would look into getting two (Left and Right) into the next build. Well, I got busy, was on the road a lot, blah, blah, blah and it simply slipped my mind. A few weeks ago he either sent me an e-mail or a PM asking if I had forgotten my promise (I had.)

Well, I finally got around to making the Symbols for him and I am hoping he will see this post and PM me again so I can e-mail him the files, so if YOU are out there, let me know your e-mail address and I will send you the AXP files. I ultimately chose a "medium" example for best all-around usability. A screen shot of both is posted below.

Hope this helps!

Any chance of a spiral staircase icon for my Sketch-It v1.4a?

Sorry Anon,

Sketch-It is not my program, so I cannot help you there. Would be happy to send the spiral staircase symbol from Apex, but I am certain that Sketch-It cannot read it. FWIW, Apex will read Sketch-It files, though. I added that a few years ago as a favor to Wayne. Not sure how many people still use that feature, but it comes in handy when you may be working with an old file.

Sorry I could not be more help!

It's ok, you're always as helpful as possible. I just use a circle and 6 lines. It's not pretty.

I have a question....in this screen shot, your version of Apex is 4.6. I was just on the phone with tech support at Apex and I was told my version 4.3 was the up to date. How do you have 4.6 and I only have 4.3 if mine is up to date?

I would like to be running the most up to date version. How do I get 4.6 on my computer? Curved stair cases would be nice for my sketches.

Hi Tyler,

Sorry for the delay in responding. I just replied to your PM on the symbols and sent them.

As for the version, yes, I was using an internal build of the next update - i.e. v4.6 which has not been released to the public yet. We anticipate releasing it sometime in January or February, after we get "certification" from our various Integration Partners. They need to verify that the product will properly integrate with their software without issue before we will package it up for public consumption. Given the time of year and that most people are away from their desks, we are not sure when we will get a consensus thumbs up, hence the delay estimate above.

As in the past, as a registered v4.x user, this update will be free to you and you can expect an automatic notification when it is available unless you have configured Apex NOT to check for updates.

Hope this helps!
