Default Pastoral View definition

How are people defining a "pastoral" view? Does it require meadows and sheep? (just kidding about the sheep). Where I am (marin county, California) we have what I call Hill views, a view of a particular landmark mountain, water views, panoramic views. Agents use the term "greenbelt." When the hill views are peaceful and gentle, exquisitely framed, does that count as pastoral? So far I've been avoiding the word :-).

A Pastoral view is a view of a church

Open hills, fields, rural etc. If one has superior demand over another, utilize the "other" option and adjust.

pastoral to me suggests a view of a pasture. not a term i think i will use often. here we have greenbelts and desertbelts and desert washes. lots of wonderful sights delegated to 'other'

Mr. Rex beat me to the punch. If it has cow patties on it, it is pastoral.

Make that sheep patties, as well!

Mt. Tam isn't pastoral, it's mountain view. I'd use it for rural Marin and grassy hills.

Reminds me of a joke on how you find your way to Texas: Drive east until you smell it, then drive south until you step in it. LOL

You do know that you don't have to use any of the selections in the list, right? If you select "other" you can type in whatever you think is appropriate.

They certainly didn't ask appraisers for suggestions.

I've looked at thousands of appraisals performed in over 20 states and NEVER seen "Pastoral" as a view description.
