We live "out in the country"

We regularly foster 'dumped animals' of unknowable origin.... until they can be re-homed.

Our most recent success story was a Damstifario! A beautiful brindle coat on a lump of BIG puppy love.

Mastiff-Dane-Canariopresso(?) who mighta had some German Shephard in there too. Had some real dog breed experts try to unravel where this big guys ancestors might have come from. "Dogs with big feet and jowels" was the unanimous conclusion!

Still a puppy, sparklin' whites and gambooling legs... at about 120 lbs still growing ... feet like saucers, about 4-5 inches in diameter! Totally sweet attitude, with no bad habits or cringing, but not 'trained' either. <_< We did some basic groundwork while waiting to see if an owner responded to the ads.

I have a semi-offical status with the local humane society. After many years of effort they are finally going to have an offical building and home. Until then the only option is to call the Animal Control which will pick up abandoned animals and take them to the nearby city where they stand a real good chance of being PTS (put to sleep). They do the screening and accept the liability end of things...

This guy went to a home where he was wanted and loved ... companion to a great dane female at the tail end (snicker) of puppyhood. She kept hurting the family's other two older mop-dogs in her 'play with me' efforts. Older min-pin and a spaniel just weren't up to her antics! Now she has a buddy and the kids have another big pillow.

He will be fixed as part of the adoption process.
