I expect to get my disk this week. I have been reading all the horror and success story's here. Since I'm a week or two behind the beta curve for installs by members of this forum, would you load the software now? Knowing what you know today?

Just a yes or no will do.

(I probably should have done this as a poll but I am totally incompetent with that sort of thing.)

After making a full back-up of your system, Yes, give it a try.

No! but since I have, I want you to install it also, why should I have all the fun.

OK, joking aside. If you have a seperate workstation, load it on there. If you do not, and you do install it on, make sure you get the latest updates. If you can save all your reports from Athena and then uninstall Athena, and install Aurora on a clean slate. Thats what I would do. I'm even thinking about doing it, if I get a disk. But I would contact a tech for any advice. They are busting their chop to fix stuff and they have on some issues.

I hear some are doing OK, others are not so OK. Cheers.

One of the best migrations Iíve experienced. Iím not trying to stroke a la mode for brownie points but I honestly feel theyíve done a good job. The new platform has a number of well thought out features which are useful and functional.

Install it on a weekend and play around with a few test reports. You'll catch on quickly.

Yes!

We have been on it for 3 weeks now. No work stop from problems.
Yes there will be issues, but as for as that goes, it has been less then what you deal with from Microsoft.

My network upgrade only took about 90 minutes total. That includes the server, 3 desktops, and upgrading the files to the new format. Not bad at all.

But do it on a slow weekend. You will need the time to relearn the interface and to some degree your workflow will change.

I am glade we did the upgrade, and could never go back.

Thanks for the updates. Keep 'em coming. We haven't received our copy yet either, but I'm in no hurry. Heck, I've been a computer consultant for years and ran tech support for a tier one Internet provider before getting into appraisal, and I'm terrified of the upgrade because Athena is so unstable. I'm just so hoping that the new SQL-based Aurora will fix the daily crash b.s.

Upgrade Yes. But this product is far from perfect. I have never had so many calls to tech support.

Recheck your reports before sending them . Sometime netx changes field data.
If you have an address like a condo 123 main street #222 it will change it to just 123 main street. and also overwrite the map reference number with a MSA #.

I am calling tech again today with a stupid security XOM WAF file disaster. Yesterday they said oh that! we will just email you the instructions. Yeah right the same instruction that didn't work in the first place.
