So many threads on hear about how bad things are in the Appraisal business!!!
So many BAD MB's RE Agents Appraisers BUT what can I do I'm only ONE person & No one Else is doing anything & I don't have the MONEY these Big guys have, I can't possibly do anything about it.?? Are You SURE No ONE else is doing anything? are you SURE you can't make a difference??

Well lets look at some names in History; LADIES pay attention the first TWO are women!!

Norma McCovey ? Dallas Texas 21 years old, Poor,Uneducated, Alcoholic in the 70's when women were to do ONLY what men told them. Think she made a difference?? She started what is now a controversial issue now known as Wade VS Roe.

How about a lady from Atlanta Georgia?? Norma Parks Maybe she made a LITTLE difference.

Then there came a guy by name of King.

I'll let some others add a few names before I continue.

Point is IF your going to complain & NOT do anytrhing else BUT Complain Then your going to WASTE a lot of your life Complaining.

Are you complaining about complaining? There are many things going on on this board, complaining is only one of them. Interesting that you choose to see the complaining and not the rest.

Comparing the appraisal biz to Rosa Parks, Roe V Wade, and MLK seems like a stretch. We're just not that important.

Actually Karl every appraiser on this forum does something every day; following USPAP guidelines on reports & when dealing with clients makes a difference whether you think so or not. Just because your not on capitol hill doesnt mean you cant make a difference every day. When I say every appraiser I mean that there are not many unethical appraisers trying to make a difference in this business.

I believe what Karl meant was if you're going to complain, you need to follow up and do something that will help stop this madness. Contact legislators and the media, turn in the really bad appraisals whenever you get your hands on them, etc.

Complaining here is a good way to help relieve some of our frustrations, actually taking a proactive position and following up with action is what we need.
