No damage in Southern California and it should have not effect on the appraisal business. It did knock some peaches and apples off my trees which I don't have to pick so I guess that's a plus.
I was sitting at home 20 miles north-east of the epicenter...and first became aware of the situation on national TV...wonder if GBush is sitting with his head in his hands asking "What's next?"
That was no big deal. Some unreinforced block walls fall, a few bricks, and a few water line breaks. Most of us didn't bother getting up from our chairs. Don't wake me up unless it's over 6.0.
Has no impact on business. I check for visible cracks on foundation and walls as always (plus sagging roof-line, etc.); otherwise, nothing to speak of. Some get tornadoes, hurricanes, floods, massive snow storms .... while we get the earthquakes.
I'm just glad that nobody was seriously injured [reporting thus far].
I've been waiting for the big one to help my declining house value. As soon as Cali falls off to sea, I should have pretty good waterfront property in AZ.
