Is anyone else having trouble since A la Mode switched mapping servers? It takes at least three tries to get the thing to load a map now. What a useful update.

No problems noted (knock on wood!). When they first swithched, I got a pop-up message that said I might experience a temporary slow down, but hasn't happened yet. Hope yours improves.

David,

My name is Michael Combs and I'm the product manager handling all of a la mode's Internet services including location maps. We actually haven't switched our location map servers yet except for our beta members. If you're having trouble retrieving maps then there may be another problem with which our technical support staff can help.

We having been having a problem downloading maps for almost a week. During the early morning hours we are able to download few. Mid day and afternoon, none of our five appraisers has been successful in downloading a map. Tech support has made extensive tries to resolve the issue but with no success.

I haven't checked this post for a while, so here's an update. The maps are working OK, I guess, if you are willing to try a couple of times for the program to get it right. For example, at first try on the latest report, it couldn't find two of the Comps. So I deleted the map & tried again, and it got all three! Maybe it's the map program. Sometimes it will find the addresses, and sometimes it won't. So you just have to keep getting the same map until it places all the properties correctly. And frequently, the map server won't connect at all. But if you try two minutes later, it works fine. It's just annoying.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted that last comment. Now it's putting my 1/8 mile comps eight miles away from my Subject. When I try to re-load the map, the "Server is down".

David,

Not sure where your problem is. Have you contacted alamode for help? During the last few days, I've spoken with six local appraisers who all use WinTotal and the subject of the map program was raised but none of us have experienced any problems at all. Might give 'em a call and see if they can track down what's happening.

Hope it gets better!

David,

There may be a technical issue causing the problems with your maps. I'm sure that one of our technicians can assist you with the problem. If not then we can atleast attempt to diagnose the problem so that we can track it down and correct it.
