Just got a call from a lender; a multi-million dollar lender no less. Known nationally.

They requested I send them a color hard copy for their file. I told them that we had e-mailed the report to them and that when they print it, they have a hard copy. I was then told that all they had was black and white printers. No color printers.

Multi-million dollar lender and not a color printer to be had. Yet my little 2 person office has had a color printer since day one.

Amazing. Absolutely amazing.

 I have the same thing here! The two largest, national banks in our area can't (or won't) accept EDI because 1. they don't have e-mail 8O and 2. they don't have a color printer. :? So, I deliver them when in the area.

Richard,

I wonder if we're working with the same lender. Just got a call from them requesting I overnight the hard copies to the local branch. :?: Of course I had to request their UPS account #. They weren't offering.

Funny, this is one of those that requires you be on their software, and send in their format, yada yada. Stubborn me still sending in PDF, and I'm told I'll be placed on their inactive list if I don't comply to which I reply, 'Oh well, do what you have to do.'

Wonder if this is a good sign that not all of their branches are EDI capable? (Lighthouse on the way out???) I was told this hard copy requirement was now going to be a part of all orders.

Caterina,

You do, I hope, charge additional for color print-outs!

Interesing point Bill. They have one of those slightly reduced fee schedules, which are still reasonable only because of the lack of printing and paper costs. Had forgotten that part of the sales pitch.

Hmmmm. Seems a phone call is in order.

Almost makes you want to go spend $100 for a color printer for them.

I have encountered the same issue. Makes them look cheap, backward, stupid, or inept.

Seems the bigger they are, the more they don't want their "minions" to be going on line and printing out smut! (Just a guess)

both you and I know that Banks collect every penny on a charge, this is how they become Multi-Million Dollar companys. I would not volunteer color photo's or anything else; for all the technical stuff we've had to purchase over the years I think we are adequately justified to charge "Tech Fee" for anything that requires us to go back into any technical divice to obtain documents.

the fee should represent that portion of your fee that is applicable, right down to the penny; IE; $65.23 - at the end of the year take all your penny's and open a penny account for the grandchildren.

Life at the top of the mountain gets dull when you can't slde down 8)
