The most recent version of Medina runs quite well on a Mac using Crossover version 7.02 when run using the Classic UI setting. Thank you to all at Apex. Anyone running a Mac should really give serious consideration to using Crossover.

Thanks for the info...just bought two Macs and and server. Hope to be up and running next week (the Vista thing really got me down). We have a couple of mini Macs (gottem on e-Bay) we have been using for the past year, but haven't used with APEX with the Macs. You have convinced me to take the plunge...good weekend project.

I really do love my Mac.:icon_biggrin:

mac appraisals

CouchPotato,
I'm a trainee in Asheville. I'm beginning with a new supervisor today and for the time being, I'll be using my MacBook. Since the bulk of the commercial report is done using Word and Excel, I'm OK in that area. Besides APEX, what other software issues might I run into? Do you have any other Mac appraisal advice?
Thanks,
~Mike

The one area of appraising where there is a barrier to Mac use are MLS systems. First American is a major supplier of MLS systems and they can only be run using Internet Explorer for Windows. While this can be overcome using programs like Fusion or Parallels, buying a windows license is a pain in the wallet. I have not found any other drawbacks to using a Mac for appraisal work.

I forgot to mention in my earlier post on running Apex that you will want to use CUPS-PDF as your "printer" when using CrossOver to run the program.
