Great article..

I would have pushed it one step further however..

"A possible solution to this situation would be the MANDITORY LICENSING OF MORTGAGE BROKERS, LENDERS, WHOLESALERS, AND INVESTMENT COMPANIES, thereby making them also responsible for the potential faulty loans and inflated home values!"

Here was my favorite line:

Representatives of mortgage brokers and realtors said appraisal inflation isn't a major problem and downplayed concern.

Just wait until interest rates go up about 3% and we shall see if inflation was a major problem or not.

Why am I not shocked that realtors/brokers/agents (for Richard carlsen) and mortgage brokers don't see appraisal inflation as a problem?

I hate to see appraisers predicting the future.

It is fine to have an opinion, but when you are quoted in the media, it looks like you have an agenda - as in, I am going to be very conservative and appraise everything low because the day of reconning might be just around the corner. I know Bob did not say all that, but people who read the article might get that impression, and think it represents what appraisers are thinking.

Some think there is a bubble, some don't.
