Not complaining here. This message is just a warning to people still in the pipeline to get there licenses/certifications.

My apprentice started in June of 2005. Finished his classes and exam with no problem. Just watching the calendar for June of 2007 so he could turn in his log. He had more than enough hours long before June of 2007.

Early July 2007 sends in his log and other docs to MO state appraisal commission. Some small time goes by and they send him a letter requesting samples from his log. He gets them back to them immediately. They correspond some more with questions about his samples. They weren't cookie cutters and one subject had a very recent prior sale at a very low $$. (Bank repo sale). I can easily understand why it raised a red flag. He disclosed everything IAW his training.

Nov 9 '07 he gets a letter indicating that he has to have a personal interview with appraisal board Feb 5 '08. (3 months down the line) He answers a stream of questions at board and they say they'll get back to him.

Feb 26 he finally gets his cert # over the phone.

I know that the appraiasal board is protecting the industry, the consumers and us as well. This note is just a fore warning to people patiently waiting. When your 2 years is up, don't expect to get your license immediately. Be ready to add an additional 8 months.
