I don't know whether to be sad or glad. This "personal mobility" car is being marketed straight at me. It costs $7,000-$9,000, goes 8 MPH with a range of about 40 miles. This thing has climate control and an audio system. What gets me is the commercial where it's being driven down the damn sidewalk! Why not the street? Sidewalks are for people on foot. I'm offended that 1- They think it's okay to do this and 2- That sounds appealing to me and would make me want one.

I'm thinking that folks in the Villages will eat these up.

Glorified golf cart, illegal to drive on most sidewalks.

It looks like an enclosed mobility scooter.

Great if you're handicapped; ridiculous if you're not.

These little scooters would never do in the Villages.

I've been to that glorified geriatric day care center to see some friends a couple of times and each time I've gone, they've upgraded to a bigger, fancier golf cart. Unless it will do 20-25 mph, you'll get run over.
