I watched Franklin Raines, CEO of FNMA, interviewed last night on one of our major national news talk shows. Among other things, such as affirming his and FNMA's full endorsement of the Administration's recent views on college admissions and minorities -- which was certainly impressive for an African-American to say so -- he took the opportunity to announce/opine that the country's Enron activity was a thing of the past and that new corporate governance enforcement was proceeding just dandy. While I neither agree nor disagree, I thought it a little curious that FNMA would hold/forward "official positions" on such politically contentious issues, but there are many things going on that I just don't completely get these days -- I got the impression the interviewer was thinking exactly the same thing...
