I propose this thread should be used in brief for specific bugs that have not been resolved...

Found a new one today:

on the ERC form if effective date of the report is retrospective the date carries forward to several other fields where it is incorrect! (this can happen to you) Only solution appears to be delete all dates and hardcopy handwrite em in

Lee Ann:

I think your effective date "bug" happens on all the forms. My work-around with the problem is to finish the report then go to Options/Report, and check the "carry forward text" to never. Then I go back to the effective date spaces and enter the dates I need.

Its clumsy but it does get the job done.

I like your suggestion of reporting "bugs" here. Maybe we can get the attention of ACI and get some of the problems fixed.

And checking the option to not do that does not work. So I go 1 word or even letter too long for the filed, and POP, it goes into the addendum. I don't want it there! I want to edit so it fits, or at least the main part of what I have to say, then finish up in the addendum.

Also if you use the automatic living area adjustments, the box for no adjustment if difference is less than X square feet (or whatever it says, you know the one) doesn't work either. so you have to delete an adjustment for maybe 1 SF!

Plenty of others, but I'll wait to see our moderators list. Oh, this is version 7.3.2. I sure hope when I get the version 8 some of this stuff is fixed. :!:

Lee, I know what you mean about typing one letter too many in a major text field and you are thrown into the addendum carry-over area with (only) the following appearing on main page .....See Attached Addendum. Even when you thought you had set the parameters to ALWAYS PROMPT you with a "doink" sound, and give you the interior window asking first IF you wanted to write in addendum, the warning about over-typing often NEVER occurs and you can NOT reverse or back-space by those few letters to get you back to where you were before the carry-over. O.K., so that means you have to watch those last few typed letters or words very closely.....but I'd rather have the carry-over prompt function work instead !

recently switched to V8 and haven't noticed anything of witch you speak, all seems to be functioning well so far.
Because I had just finished working on many recent "retrospective" reports, I had to go back and check the dates- all dates were in order, so I don't know if your just refering to the ERC - but I've used; SFR & Land reports and no problemo with those reports.

As for word wrap, I like it when it goes directly to the addendum and responds quickly so I can continue my thoughts.

Lee:

My clumsy workaround for the 'pop goes the addendum field' issue ... is to finish my thought making careful note of about where I was when the littel weasel blew up...

then rough edit and cut and paste to the original window in front of the see addendum blurb.

clumsy at best but serve the purprose.

regards,

Lee Ann

Lee Ann:

Most of my "pop goes the weasel" (I like that concept :D ) situations have involved heavy editing too. Well, not exactly heavy, but more than normal. I hadn't cloned any of the reports that went pop.

Keep track and keep posting and lets find a way to kill the weasel.
:D

Dave, Any chance you had given the tech folks at ACI a little head's-up about this section of the Forum ?.....and perhaps they are taking notes from some of our comments and speaking to their programmers about corrections for version V 8.+

Ross:

Yes, I have notified Cheryl Wilks, head of tech support at ACI about the group. Also, I sent yersterday's forum posts (in the form of a link to the page with our messages on them) to Corey Sherman at tech support to keep him informed. Both Cheryl and Corey have been good to work with. I've known Cheryl for a number of years and have worked with Corey on several problems this year, mostly with success.

I do hope they are tuning in from time to time. As far as I know no one from ACI has joined the group. ACI, are you reading us :?:
