Well if you love the great data and accessibility of our wonderful Assessor website and GIS data prepare to be disappointed.
It is going away and being replaced - I've been dabbling in the new website and it is sure not appraiser friendly.

Pretty nice setup.

Lucky for you it's free to use. Inferior data around here runs $500/year.

SHHHH - don't tell them that other counties charge $$$ !!!

What did the old system offer that this one doesn't? Other then the UI, I don't see much difference and no reduction in actual data.

Every time you try to actually do anything with it you will find something else that doesn't work as well as it used to - measuring, searching, selecting, copying, hyperlinks, researching, studying, comparing, analyzing.

And then there will be the ongoing issues with their imaginary sale dates. They are reporting the property last sold on the last day of the month prior to the date they think a contract was written on the property. Looked at one today that shows a sold date 8 months before the house was built. Have fun explaining every single one of those to your CU friends. Yes there is some relevance to a true contract date - that was the meeting of the minds. But until there is a meeting of the funds there is really no sale. just a possibility of a sale. And for them to pick a random date that has almost no chance of ever being right is ridiculously pompous and misleading IMHO.

I'm amazed what great GIS most counties in Oregon have and what skimpy, barely usable GIS most California counties have--you'd think you were in Appalachia, yet they can throw a trillion dollars at a rail system to nowhere.

Every parcel in Graham County assessor's maps that are available in the internet has the wrong dimensions and the wrong site area in information. To get the correct dimensions based on legal descriptions and recorded subdivision I go to a CD that the assessor's office issued before they digitized the maps or to the recorded subdivision maps. Then I sketch in Apex's survey module to determine the site area for my subject and all comparables. Also the information about properties on the website is two years out of date and includes personal property that is not taxed on the real property roll. So lots of phone calls to the local county offices.

I am unable to figure out how to copy the plat maps other than control/printscreen which makes a poor quality copy. Also I would like to be able to play with the color or shading to make it easier to see. Definitely haven't figured it out yet.

There is a little print button in the upper right corner of the map display. Select JPG format and it pops up another screen that you can right click and copy photo. Well that's if you are trying to copy the map on your screen as a plat map. If you are trying to get to the real recorded plat maps from the new system I was not able to find a link for that.

Got it to copy that way after switching over to firefox. It doesn't seem compatible with IE, thanks
