Gutmann & Middleton, one of Ohio’s oldest appraisal firms, is seeking experienced Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisers in Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati, OH. As part of a strong regional appraisal organization, you will produce credible and reliable results for clients and other intended users. Ideal candidates must possess a strong sense of urgency, quality customer service skills, timeliness and enjoy working in a competitive industry. Meeting and exceeding client expectations, particularly regarding turn-times, is critical. You will be responsible for:

· Establishing a scope of work necessary for all assignments based on the client's needs.

· Making onsite visits and inspecting properties.

· Assembling, analyzing, interpreting and reporting on appraisal data.

· Completing USPAP compliant appraisals of real property using internal and external sources.

We are looking for candidates with strong analytical and communication skills, who have the ability to mentor State Registered Appraiser Assistants and are interested in advancing their careers. Qualified candidates must hold a Certified Residential Appraiser certification/license in the State of Ohio. The SRA and MAI designations are a plus. Primary Job Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:

  • Completion of USPAP compliant appraisals to include various property types
  • Completion of USPAP compliant appraisal reviews to include various property types
  • Responsible for the communication of appraisal process status
  • Participate in regular meetings with company leadership to identify regional trends, discuss opportunities and develop objectives based on direction
  • Identify and escalate critical service related client concerns and/or outdated/incomplete order information
  • Perform property visits for the purpose of construction draws.

Basic Qualifications

  • Active Certified Residential Appraiser meeting the qualifications of and licensed in the State of Ohio
  • Have held Certified Residential Appraiser certification/license for a minimum of 3 years
  • No current or pending Disciplinary Action for any state
  • No revocation without reinstatement for any state
  • No prior disciplinary that resulted in suspension, denial, revocation, that has not been subsequently be reinstated – appraisal, real estate, or lending related licenses

Preferred Qualifications

  • SRA or MAI designation
  • Experience working with a State Registered Appraiser Assistant.
