Does anyone know any details about when the laws going to make it mandatory to have a college degree for an appraisal license in California?

Is there a cutoff number for experience hours when this happens?

Ryan...

Apparently grandfathering is going to be a dirty word also - you may want to proceed in a forward direction with haste...

the new rules are not yet cast in stone as I understand it... your state may vary

Don't know about California. But in WA the board has stated this is comming down from the ASB to be required in a few years and take effect a few years after that since all trainiees and currently licensed/certified/general appraisers will be grandfathered. I belive they were talking the rule would come down in 05 to 06 time and mandatory would be 08. This was from the WA board one of the meetings that I attended.

It is being discussed...it is not currently a rule. There is much being said about the ASB overstepping it's authority in making such a requirement. It would, as I understand the draft proposal, apply to new licensees and those already licensed would be grandfathered.
