Just took the alamode webinar on DaVinci. Pretty cool sketching program - and I like that it is included in the cost of your software. I also like that alamode supports it - no outside vendors.

For those of you considering changing software companies, they're running a special right now which includes the Mobile Pro. Sweet deal for those who like working in the field.

Thank you, Mr. Biggers!

I croaked the mother board in my desktop on Friday, and didn't have a copy of Apex on my laptop, so I used DaVinci for the first time today. Mostly intuitive with a minor learning curve. I can already see some time savings features. Of course, I wasn't using the latest and greatest Apex, but I was impressed with DaVinci, especially since I am paying for it as part of the software package. Bye, bye Apex, it was good while it lasted.

Yes, Apex is a good program. Certainly no slur intended toward Apex. They have served me well and faithfully. But I just like that Davinci is supported by alamode. I agree - it is a little more intuitive and has some sharp features. Did they tell you about the $23 upgrade - I think it's a one time fee - gives you expanded symbols but also will convert all of your Apex sketches to DaVinci. I think I can find $23 to have that feature.

They have another Webinar session if you're interested........but you probably don't need it!

Speaking of webinars.......those guys from AIG should be shot right in the middle of Wall Street. "Training seesions" my behind..they were PARTIES. If they needed to train, webinars are great....and a lot cheaper than fancy hotels. Maybe we should send Dave Biggers to have a talk with them about the fine art of training......

We keep Apex in the office because it does land areas. When we meets and bounds but don't have a plat, common in rural areas, Apex is great. Other than that, I use the sketch software that came with my program.

DaVinci rocks! We all use tablet pc's and the mobile sketch works just about flawlessly (so far). Kinda useful since the county records in many of the areas we work in are rife with incompetence and inaccuracies. It is really nice to know the size of the property, on site, especially if you were relying on data based on county records.

It's really cut down on second trips to photograph comparables.

It is very gratifying to see the many improvements and enhancements a la mode has made to Aurora in the last 2-3 years.

I,too, was struck by the "intelligent design" of DaVinci.
