I am new to the FHA roster and just saw a house with significant settlement in the detached garage - step cracks along the blocks with approximately 1" separation. The MB is saying that I don't need a structural inspection because it is not living space. Additionally, some plumbing work was recently completed and the plumber left two exposed dirt holes in the concrete floor of the unfinished basement. I'm not sure if that is a MPR problem or not. Advise Please!

Inspection or call for repairs. One bag of concrete mix would likely fix the holes in the concrete floor. Very inexpensive repair and I would call for it. Let the underwriter over-ride your requirements if they want.

Mike is correct. Call it as you see it and let the underwriter over ride your repairs. Better their head in the noose than yours! Welcome to the forum!!
