I have been covered up with commercial work the last couple years so I haven't done an FHA appraisal since the days of VC's. Commercial work is slowing down now and one of my better clients has requested that I take over FHA work that had been going to an appraiser they no longer trust.

What forms are you including in your FHA appraisals and is there anything to take the place of the VC sheet? I will get into a class to update me on this but, if there isn't a great deal of difference, might take on the 3 or 4 they need to get done now.

Thanks, in advance, for any help!

Read the revised appendix D and Mortgagee letter 2005-48. The revised appendix D is almost a line by line guide as to how to fill out the URAR and where the information is to be placed in the form instead of using the VC sheets. No other forms are used any more other then the CIR.

Thanks for your replies!! I have those docs and have been reading them. Just wanted to be sure I didn't miss anything. Good clients are hard to come by and I sure didn't want to "screw-up" a residential report and jeopardize a good commercial account. On the other hand, don't really want to give another appraiser a foot in the door.

Good luck! Just read, read, and re-read all of the material...A lot!
