really. Locally, we have a greeting card company. Never a layoff. Canned a bunch of folks who have been there too long...about to be vested in the retirement program. One told me he lost 4 weeks of vacation and had no warning about being canned.
Wal-Mart is talking "layoff" and we are seeing some large homes languish on the market over RELO issues. If you lay off a regional VP with a $200,000/yr salary..its hard for a parttime backhoe operator to buy it. A tool manufacuturer is also laying off. Sears a big customer...aren't selling Craftsman tools worth a hooie. Trucking company laid off a bunch. Again, targeting people with years of experience because that saves them a bunch on retirement costs. Seems if you get a retirement benefit, then you have a bulls eye on your back.....makes you want to be an independent contractor and take your chances.

17,000... What's the big deal. In Michigan, we lose that many every 3 months:fiddle:

If it keeps shedding, pretty soon it'll be hairless.

(( BTW--- If you want to know answer here, Read up on Job Birth/Death ratio that BLS uses ))

Who wroite the article??, what are their political beliefs?? We loose & gain jobs daily. depending on who writes the article. IF you can pay your bills economy is fine. IF you can't the economy Sucks. No harder to understand than that.

Written by a black helicopter pilot no doubt Karl.
The economy sucks and if anyone cant see that ... then there is something wrong. Inflation (true inflation) above 15%, value of the dollar declining, jobless claims increasing .... yes the economy is not stable no matter whos writing about it.

And the cycle continues. Yet there are those that actually believe that a person that has never actually worked out of the government sector, never owned a business, can become president & fix things. This cycle is going to "suck" more this time around than any other in recent history. Cause we have developed a live for the moment attitude. & now we have to pay up.

The prayer request in Sunday School yesterday was from one of my 10th graders...

Please pray my mom finds a job...Fiserv just laid off 400 people because WAMU is cutting back on expenses....(400 in a town of 50K)

To pay for legal costs, no doubt?

PLEASE!! don't mention the "Black Helicopters" They know where you live. It's for your own safety:nono:

Yes we prefer that NO ONE mention them, cause then folks start looking for em.

It is a shame that so many will be suffering during this period of the "cycle" Wish there was a remedy but when times were "GOOD" no one wanted to listen. For those that can make it through this cycle please think of those that are struggling & go do some volunteer work.
