As an appraiser, if you are an employee or an independent contractor, do you ever feel like the label don’t fit?

So you keep talking about this because you want to be classified as a employee?

I was an employee had security, health insurance......drove me crazy. Give me being an IC. Some appraisers can't say no, or don't know how to say no.

Got this email from Synergy last week:

Good Afternoon,

You are receiving this email because you are on our appraiser panel in CA but have a SSN number listed in your profile instead of an EIN. In accordance with the new AB-5 law effective January 1st we need an EIN number on file for you. Please forward at your earliest convenience. If you do not have one or do not wish to be on panel please let me know.

Thank you,

xxxxx

I've been reading the new law and it appears the onus is on the client buying our service to prove that we are not independent contractors.
