I can appreciate that LO's are disappointed that they have made
35 day locks and two weeks before their lock expires
they call for an appraisal and are told, "I'm 4+ weeks out."

But, they trully must not understand our job, cause they say things like,

"It's only a small condo. Can't you squeeze it in."

"Its only a drive-by."

"You just did it two years ago, you have all the data on it."

I'd like to chat with them and explain the error in their logic,
but don't have the time or energy.

Wow, you mean, when I have a fever, it means a loan officer absorbed some knowledge?

The lending community has worked fitfully hard to put appraisers out of the equation--they reap what they sow.

My turn times are within a week...but you've got to be a valued client to get the time of day. You wanna pay a fee commensurate with my education and experience? You wanna pay my fee in a timely fashion, and not base it on somebody's predetermined value? Then you've got my full attention...how soon do you need it?...three days?...that's not impossible, but there will be a reasonable rush fee attached!

What really burns my *** is that I get the contract for the house I'm appraising and its dated like 5/19/2003. What the hell have they been doing? They always order the appraisal last. I bet I fend off 2-3 calls a day from brokers looking for a quickie.

how can they understand our job, when they don't even understand their job

the problem wit order takers is they have no concept of the business they're involved in- fact/not fiction B)

"Hello, this is ABC Mortgage. Remember when we called three weeks ago & you said you were booked out until the 15th? Well, today's the 14th & we would like to order the appraisal so you can do it tomorrow."

I'm getting shopping calls from LO's in places that I have never heard of before. I know they are desperate when they ditch the AMC to do their own internet searching. :p Sure I can get it....... in about 3-4 weeks. B)
