WASHINGTON (July 16, 1:43 p.m. ADT) - Officials of Freddie Mac, entangled in accounting problems, and Fannie Mae have failed to cooperate in a congressional inquiry into oversight of the big government-sponsored housing finance companies, a House lawmaker charged Wednesday.
"Their lack of cooperation is unfortunate and raises questions about their seriousness," Baker said. "They cannot put off the subcommittee's questions indefinitely, however, and we will revisit this discussion at a later date, when I may have no choice but to consider extending a different form of invitation to receive their testimony."

Maybe some of that light torture the government uses from time to time will loosen up some tongues. Maybe some loud rock music and sleep deprevation will do it.

Well, as the shrinks say, every human problem is sexual.

How about this for the name of a closed door hearing.

Freddie whips Fannie.
S & M tactics in an S & L crisis.

Yeah, Bobby, it's obviously sexual in nature:

Brendsel left with a $24 million compensation package. Glenn forfeited his departure salary and bonus, and some $11 million in company stock options to which he had not yet taken title, but keeps options worth $5.3 million.

If only prostitution paid so well.
