HI, does FHA have a guideline for flat roofs? Do they recommend or require an inspection? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and have a good weekend.

When the Appraiser is unable to view the roof, the Appraiser must explain why the roof is unobservable and report the results of the assessment of the underside of the roof, the attic, and the ceilings.

It used to be a mandatory inspection. Now, only if you suspect a problem. Note that observation from the ground was not possible. Throw it back in their lap. Never seen a flat roof with an attic.
