SOS, I am holding back on completing a doublewide unit for FHA loan, because it has NO overhang on the front or back, I remember(AM I CRAZY) that there is a minimum of 6inch overhang. However I can not seem to locate it in the manual. ANY responses appreciated.

Was it built to HUD code? Does it have the HUD tags on the exterior?

If so, don't worry about the overhangs.

I agree with Pam. If it's got a HUD tag, so be it. If it doesn't have a HUD tag, it's a reject. It's that simple.

Thansk for the post, that is what I did, they do meet HUD requirements, I called HUD and verified. The 6 inch overhang must have come from some underwriters MH checklist. WHo knows...

As far as I know, there is nothing about overhang in the 4150.2. By the way I talked with HUD the other day and they are not ready to change the handbook any time soon. :D
