2 years is utterly ridiculous. Nero fiddled while this person infected 500-700 properties and impacted untold lives. Amazing.

I just did a review of an appraisal done 01/20/2008 for a small cape in Spring Valley, NY. The original appraiser had inflated the value by $140,000, two of three comps were non-MLS sales, two were dated big time and, here is the kicker ... one of the comps was a vacant lot. I can't believe these guys are still out there.

I've seen this kinda stuff before. I remember as a trainee my mentor once showed me a review he was working on....One comp had 20k added to its sale price by the appraiser. Another was 2 years old but the appraisal showed it as closed within a few months...this kinda stuff is out there.

Believe it or not, we need those guys around too, otherwise nobody will appreciate a good appraiser.

Any word on how many trainees he left behind?

I agree with you 100%, Mike. but at least she is now gonegonegone.

i believe that my complaint on her was the first..there must have been subsequent complaints to have her revoked. cannot wait to read the case on the web site when it is posted.

btw, there is a "rough" draft of the newsletter out now (havent seen it) but that means our new newsletter will finally, hopefully be coming soon.
