Here are some sales I dug up. All are very old but may be of some help. All are located in Iowa, but the one in Hawarden may be closest to your subject property.
Funeral home at 505 9th Street in Sibley, Iowa. Purchased on 03/01/89 for $248,000; however also included a satellite chapel in Ashton, Iowa but I am not sure if the purchase price reflects just the site in Sibley or also the sale in Ashton. The buyer was Walton-Roste and you could probably contact Rich Roste for addition information at 712-472-2523 if you need more information. I know Rich so you can tell him I gave you his name. Also, this property is located in Osceola County and the assessor's number is 712-754-3438.
Funeral home at 712 10th Street in Hawarden, Iowa sold for $250,000 on 04/24/89 and includes two buildings attached to each other. These buidlings also included some living quarters. Sale was from Dow to Porter. This property is located in Sioux County and the assessor's number is 712-737-4274.
Funeral home located at 712 10th Street in Sheldon, IA sold on 04/24/89 for $250,000 also. Information on this one is sketchy but may have also included the chapel located in Boyden, IA at a price of $50,000. Boyden would be located in Sioux County, however, the chapel located in Sheldon is in O'Brien county and the assessor's number there is 712-757-3205. Sale was from Vander Ploeg to Eldridge-Oohlman but still operates under the Vander Ploeg name I believe.
