Gas prices is going up. I think all appraisers should increase their fees. What are we waiting for? Lets move!!!! I already increase mine to $400 min for SFR. Please let me know what fee$ you guys are charging.

Please don't abuse yourself with low fees with the HIGH GA$ PRICE MARKET.

Gas prices, or not, we should be raising our prices just because we should be!

That's true, but I'm more worried about the lack of appraisal orders overall than I am about gas prices.

I started in 1985 fees without comp photos was $135-$150. With comp photos $175-$200. When all the reports required comp photos $225. In 1987 fees went from $225 to $250 and possibly to $275. In the Boston area I typically see fees around $300.

Lets see, a $0.50 increase in gas means it costs $12.50 more to fill a 25 gallon tank and I can get an average of 5 jobs out of a tank of gas; so my appraisal fee should increase by....$50.00.:rof:

I started on the VA panel 14 years ago and the set fee was $350, today it's still $350! I have been able to slightly raise my fees for conventional assignments by applying a gasoline sur-charge. Remember, the fees are what YOUR MARKET will bear.
