Im going to take the General Exam in the near future. What is the best method for study? To my knowledge, there are no updated exam guides available. I guess the best method is to review all my AI books and USPAP, but would like to have some sort of study guide if available. Any suggestions? Thanks!

try learnappraising.com
similiar questions and will help you get familiar with test type.

Others will suggest better but it helped me with the CR exam.

I took the General Exam today, and unfortunately failed by only a few questions. You really need to know USPAPl, expecially how it applies to situations.

learnappraising.com is a good website

Good Luck

Wow, those convoluted math problems were a killer! Regarding USPAP, I realize that was a comment from someone else but, if you are a member of the appraisal institute, there is a 10 page document "Common Misconceptions About USPAP" that it seemed like the USPAP questions were verbatim on the test from that document.

Mine is a happy ending, I passed the test at the end of May on my first try but I estimate I studied 60 hours or more. I'm also not a natural mathematician. I used almost all 8 hours and it took me weeks to get more happy about being licensed than never having to take the test again!

I used a study CD from Dearborn, questions and answer to help you pass the real estate appraiser exams". If you have Vista, you may need to download a compatibility file. http://www.dearborn.com/recampus/reeceducators.asp?link=9

Studied the basics and read/studied the Income Property Appraisal book, Fisher/Martin.

I wished I had and knew of more and super resources, seem to be scarce!

Learnappraising is a second for sure.

If you took the AI courses, you'll pass the test. Granted, I took the courses from SREA/AIREA years ago, but the license test was child's play compared to the AIREA tests.

Hello, I'm a self employed carpenter of 26 years. Looking for a carreer change. I've just started looking. I know about AI. Looking for advise. I'm in NW Jersey. Happy to have found this forum
